Wiener Dog Race Fundraiser

 

When: Sunday, September 11, 2011

Time: First heat starts at 11:00 AM

Where: Wine, Art and Music Festival (Umpqua Community College)

Race Registration Fee: $10 to register your wiener dog ($5/person entry fee will be charged at the gate for the festival - this fee is not included in the race registration fee)

All proceeds go to Rebuilding Homes for Heroes - see information below about the organization.  There will be a maximum of 64 racers in eight heats.  Entries are first come, first serve.  There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the final race.

About Us:  The Umpqua Valley Home Builders Association has partnered with The Greater Douglas United Way (501(c)3) Rebuilding Homes for Heroes project. We are strongly committed to helping our fellow DouglasCounty residents who have served our country through the various branches of the military.  


Project Description:  As a volunteer committee, we facilitate a weekend mini- home makeover project for active/retired military personnel who reside and own a home in Douglas County, Oregon.  These projects are made possible by raising donations of money, building materials, and both volunteer and professional labor.  Families will be selected through an application process in which they can either nominate themselves or be nominated by family/friends.
