About Us: The Umpqua Valley Home Builders Association has partnered with The Greater Douglas United Way (501(c)3) and Roseburg Rental for the 2010 Rebuilding Homes for Heroes project. We are strongly committed to helping our fellow DouglasCounty residents who have served our country through the various branches of the military.

Project Description: As a volunteer committee, we will facilitate a weekend mini- home makeover project for active/retired military personnel who reside and own a home in Douglas County, Oregon. This project is made possible by raising donations of money, building materials, and both volunteer and professional labor. Families will be selected through an application (click here for application) process in which they can either nominate themselves or be nominated by family/friends.

The selection process will be based on the following criteria:

1. Home Ownership

2. Project Need (photos) vs Availability of Product Donations/Labor

3. Financial Need

4. Description of Family (essay)

5. Ability to leave the house during the construction phase (Housing provided by Holiday Inn Express during construction phase – August 26-29^th)

The makeover projects are provided at no cost to the military families.
